Servicing
All servicing is conducted by Harrison Whelan. Please contact me if you wish to have your flute serviced. Include a few photos of your flute, when you would like it serviced and the brand & model. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I recommend a service every 1-2 years for flutes & piccolos. Frequent servicing is more cost effective, reducing the risk of compounding issues that can cause problems elsewhere on your instrument.

The following only applies to modern flutes. For information regarding historical flutes, please contact me.
A standard service for a modern flute includes the following (please advise me if you would like to customise your service)
- Clean & polish (including keys)
- Clean and lubricate mechanism
- *Remove dents
- *Re-shape mechanism
- *Replace stoppers
- *Replace head-joint cork
- *Replace pad/s
- Align pads
- Align mechanism
- Leak-light check
- Correct any misalignments
- Test play
- Correct any remaining misalignments

Upon assessing your flute, I will provide you with an estimate of the service cost.
